Living Lent – Day 15

Read… Jeremiah 18: 1-6

Can I not do with you, O house of Israel, just as this potter has done? says the Lord. Just like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.

It is important to remember the importance of youth here at our church. We have a great Boys Brigade and Girls association, but still could do with more help and prayers. We are struggling with youth work at church, at Sunday live, Bubbles and with the Encounter group. The secondary age group is a very difficult age group with the stress that a teenager goes through, especially with the media in this time. I believe that the church can be the answer to these people, I believe that this should be an important goal or aim for the church, even more because of the youth centre that is hopefully going to be built. I ask for your prayers and mindfulness at this time for our young people at the church.

Ponder… Singers of Daniel Iverson’s song ‘Spirit of the living God’ ask the Spirit to fall afresh on them and to break, melt, mould, and fill them. How do you relate that song to today’s passage?

Pray… FOR OUR COMMUNITY Pray for secondary school aged children. Within our church community we only have a few young people in this age bracket. We pray that they may know how precious to us they are (why not seek someone out and tell them!). Help us to cherish and nurture them as they grow into young adults. FOR THE WORLD Pray for teenagers worldwide. In a world in which technology and social media have such an influence on the young generation, pray especially that vulnerable teenagers find the strength and support to be filled with positive self worth and that their social interactions and experiences work for good in their lives, helping them to become compassionate and productive adults.

Act… Unless it’s essential for your work, have a screen free day
